Pittsfield Peaks Ultra Challenge

Debbie ran the Pittsfield Peaks trail race on Saturday. This was truly an epic. I had an ultra-marathon of my own, taking care of Shep for 12+ hours. It was non-stop feeding, diaper changing, photographing, crewing, and some playing. We had a blast while Deb romped in the woods. I’m working on some real stories about the race day, but here is the brief update.

Start of the Pittsfield Peaks Ultra Challenge

Deb ran one of her best ultras yet. The race was billed as 53 miles, but ended up being 55 or so, according to a few GPS toting runners. The course was extremely rugged and it took its toll on many of the runners. In spots it was tough to follow and several runners were lost in the woods…for a while. Leigh Schmitt was first man and Deb was first woman. Others have covered the race and I’ll follow up with more detail in the future.
