New Paltz was buzzing with energy this past Saturday and Sunday. The streets were clogged with vehicle traffic and the restaurants and shops were mobbed with visitors.
We were happy to grab a seat at Rock Da Pasta, a unique eating establishment. We were able to get some good vegan fare while watching Frank Black and the Pixies rock out on the large flat screen TV.
Across the street was the Shawangunk Running Company, a new shop for runner and multisport specific gear. The halcyon days of the stand alone running shop are gone. Internet competition for cheap sneakers is fierce, so it was cool to see some entrepreneurs giving it a go. A Northeast velodrome and a running shop in one day was almost too much to handle!
