Game over! @trailrunningmom stopped at Shawl Gap after 38 miles. She’ll be back, but her ankle is going to need more healing time. Should we try to make tomorrow’s Soapstone Mountain Trail Race? She has been at every one since 1999. Missing would be a first…and I’m the one doing the driving so I guess it is up to me.
@trailrunningmom made it through Elizabeth Furnace aid station at 33 miles (her GPS said 35) but a painful left ankle is slowing her. She did a sock change, shirt change, and taped the foot/ankle. I’ll see her again in five miles and we will reassess. She has a 1,050 climb and then the same descent.
